Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

One of the first few tablets to be powered by the latest Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime can now be pre-ordered in North America. As Engadget rightly points out, the device was not expected to be available until December, but seems like users can lay their hands on it much before the year ends.

The powerful device runs the Google Android Honeycomb platform which will later be upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich. Its 667MHz quad-core processor along with the 1GB LPDDR2 RAM is said to offer blazing fast internet browsing speed in addition to improved multitasking capabilities. The extremely thin hybrid tablet weighs close to 1.3lbs and comes drenched in shades of Amethyst gray and Champagne gold.

It sports a 10.1-inch LED backlit capacitive multi-touch screen of 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. This display featuring Gorilla Glass is durable and said to project movies and games with improved clarity. The tablet comes in variants of 32GB and 64GB memory capacities and is embedded with a digital media card reader which supports microSD and microSDHC formats to facilitate storing and transferring media content.

The 32GB and 64GB variants of the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime tablet carry price tags of $500(approx. Rs. 26,080) and $600 (approx. Rs. 31,300), respectively.
