The elusive Asus Eee Pad Slider is proof of the fact that people awed by technology do not like being forced to feed speculations off scant tech specs. So it’s a good thing the company has obliged everyone with an official page sketching out the finer details of this tablet PC.
Accordingly, the SL101 has a 10.1†WXGA LED backlit screen with 10-finger multi-touch support. It boasts of being a 178Ⱐviewing angle IPS panel protected by scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass. Upgradable to Honeycomb 3.2, it currently runs v3.1 and also happens to house the inevitable 1.0GHz dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor.
Supporting Adobe Flash technology, the Asus Eee Pad Slider is claimed to be capable of multi-tasking, though we’re hoping the company is not stating it within similar context as Apple does for the iPad. A 5MP rear camera, a 1.2MP one on the front, SRS audio, USB 2.0, mini HDMI, a microSD card reader, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and WLAN 802.11b/g/n are listed among the other features.
The gadget is packed to the gills with a load of software such Polaris, PressReader, Zinio Magazine, Asus Launcher, MyLibrary. MyNetm MyCloud, Kindle Books, Asus sync and much more. It leans on a 25Wh Li-polymer battery which is cited to be good for up to 8 hours of use. The dimensions are stated to measure at 273mm x 180.3mm x 17.3mm and it should weigh down the user by approximately 960g.
As for the launch date, Engadget cites Notebook Italia while mentioning a September release for the Asus Eee Pad Slider in Italy.
