Motorola Defy+ Smartphone

The latest smartphone in town is the Motorola DefyY+ which has been crafted with Corning Gorilla Glass, making it water, dust and scratch proof. Developed by Motorola Mobility, it runs on the Gingerbread operating system and is powered by a 1GHz processor.

This smartphone is believed to be quite tough and capable of enduring anything ranging from an intense rain shower to falls and thumps. It is reportedly apt for fitness training and workout sessions as it comes pre-loaded with a CardioTrainer application. With its 3.7-inch high-resolution touchscreen display, users can clearly view their workout progress.

Alain Mutricy, senior vice president, portfolio and device product management, Motorola Mobility said, “Motorola DEFY+, our latest life proof smartphone, delivers the endurance and design strength to keep up with even the most demanding lifestyles, along with the social and entertainment capabilities that put friends and fun in easy reach. We designed Motorola DEFY+ with all the smartphone features you need for a demanding lifestyle.”

The company claims that users can smoothly browse the web, be up to date with social networking sites via the homescreen itself as well as stream and download media content at a faster rate. They are also enabled to view high quality movies and videos on the web owing to the Adobe Flash 10-enabled browser the phone incorporates.

The Motorola Defy+ handset seems to possess improved functionalities such as longer battery life, a more intuitive user interface and enhanced calendar, email and homescreen options. It allows users to organize and customize their application trays for easy and quick access to their frequently used tools, games and content. The new device includes various features like a 5MP camera, access to Google apps, Zinio e-magazine app, 7.1 hours of talk time and 16 days standby time. The integrated Motorola Media Link lets them stream music directly from their desktops.

The Motorola Defy+ smartphone is scheduled to be available in Asia, Europe and Latin America from early fall. Its pricing details have not yet been disclosed.
