Gigabyte M528 Mobile Internet Device Introduced

Gigabyte M528 MID

Gigabyte has unveiled its latest multimedia-capable handheld computer, called the M528.

Categorized as a mobile internet device (MID), the M528 features include a 4.8-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 800×480 that is touch panel, backlit QWERTY keyboard and an optional 3 megapixel autofocus camera. It also comes with Bluetooth, WLAN at 802.11b/g, 512MB onboard memory and 4GB SSD.

Powered by an 800 MHz Intel Atom Z500 processor, the MID runs on Linux operating system and packs in Intel SCH UL11L, HSDPA mini card modem and 3.7V 2700 mAh unit.

The Gigabyte M528 measures 152 x 80 x 22.5mm in dimensions and weighs just 300 grams. It comes embedded with various in/out ports for audio playback and external storage.

The Gigabyte M528 MID comes with a price tag of around $685.
