The D-Link ShareCenter Pro DNS-1100-04 storage system arrives to aid small and medium businesses when it comes to sharing and data consolidation. According to the company, the system can function not only as a NAS device but also as an external iSCSI storage for servers such as SQL, Exchange and Apache.
Thanks to the presence of virtual disks, the system can connect with other iSCSI targets which then appear as multiple discreet volumes on the network. Plus, if the storage happens to be used up then owners will be required to simply add another Pro 1100-04 system to the network for increasing its capacity. Running on high-performance core processors, the device also has a Volume Snapshot feature to aid in creating backups by capturing a disk image at a certain time, which in turn helps with immediate restoration. Plus, the Green Ethernet is present to optimize power usage after accessing link status and cable length.
