Kingston has launched the USB 3.0 Media reader in India which supports a number of card formats and allows data transfer of heavy files at 5Gbps speed. The portable reader is also backward compatible with USB 2.0, providing greater flexibility.
The wide variety of flash card formats supported by the Kingston USB 3.0 media reader is inclusive of CompactFlash, Secure Digital, microSD and Memory sticks. Encased in a form factor of dimensions 3.66†x 2.07†x 0.63â€, the device is extremely portable. It boasts of 5Gbps transfer speed by utilizing the USB 3.0 technology.
“The Kingston USB 3.0 Media Reader’s ability to handle multiple card formats combined with its small form factor makes it perfect for use at home, on the road or in the office. It is the essential device for reading higher-speed cards currently offered in the market and a convenient way to move photos, music, data and more between multiple platforms,†commented Nathan Su, Flash Memory Sales Director, APAC Region, Kingston.
It operates at temperatures ranging from 0º to 60ºC and can be stored at extreme temperatures from -20º to 85ºC. The USB 3.0 storage device is embedded with an LED indicator and offers compliance with Windows 7, Vista and XP operating systems. Also accompanying the media reader is a three foot long USB cable for connectivity purposes.
The pricing and availability details of the Kingston USB 3.0 media reader are unclear but it will be backed by a two year warranty.
