Buffalo to launch 500GB HD-PVU2 portable hard drive in Japan

Well, we recently heard that Buffalo introduced its Drive Station CX series in the Indian market. And now the company is back with an ultra-slim portable hard drive called the HD-PVU2 to be launched in Japan. This new hard drive boasts of its 500GB storage capacity, reports Techfresh. The drive is said to incorporate Buffalo’s experience and technology developed over the years.

The 500GB HD-PVU2 portable hard drive measures around 81mm x 16mm x 130mm in size. The device connects via a USB 2.0 port. The eco-manager software automatically reduces the power supply when the drive is idle in order to conserve energy. The Buffalo drive will be made available in 320GB as well as 500GB versions.

The Buffalo HD-PVU2 portable hard drive will initially be launched in Japan only. The drive will be made available in white and black color options. The 320GB version of this drive will retail for about ¥10,500 (approx. Rs. 5,533) while the 500GB version will cost around ¥15,330 (approx. Rs. 8,081). There is no official word on a release outside Japan.
