Western Digital My Passport Studio Portable Drives in India

WD My Passport Studio Western Digital has announced the launch of its latest development in the portable drive category in the Indian market. Known as My Passport Studio is mainly designed to support Mac product.

This new addition to the My Passport series is loaded with both FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 interfaces, a clever capacity gauge to giving a secured transfer of data. Merely weighing 5 ounces, it can also hold the back up of a Macintosh laptop with the help of Apple Time Machine backup software utility.

Resting in an elegant silver metallic finish, the My Passport Studio sports a shock-resistant enclosure that protects the drive from the bumps and jars. The USB-bus powered storage gadget allows users to charge it without the need of any external power adapter.

Available in 320 GB and 250 GB storage configurations, the WD My Passport Studio portable drives are immediately available at selected retailers and at WD’s online store Priced at Rs. 10,500, the storage device is bundled with a soft drawstring carrying bag for protection from scratches and dirt.

    I am interested in ourchasing 500 GB USB passport drives from WD.

    I have a 320 GB and 250 GB working great ! But these are not externally powered but used through USB 2.0 drives only.

    Is it available in India and what is the cost ? I hope this also does not require powering up externally.
