Toshiba raised the curtains on three new memory cards, namely 8 GB (SD-F08G), 16 GB (SD-F16G) and 16 GB (SD-C16G) microSDHC card. While the microSDHC cards support mobile phones, the SDHC memory cards provide solutions to digital consumer products.
The microSDHC and SDHC cards are compatible with highly secure CPRM copyright technology and the SD memory standard Ver. 2.00.
Weighing 2g and measuring 32×24×2.1(mm), the 8GB and 16GB SDHC cards support class 6 ultra fast read/write speed that offers a maximum write speed of 20MB per second. It offers high performance for continuous shooting of still images and recording video images.
Weighing 0.4g and measuring 15×11×1(mm), the 16 GB microSDHC card is compliant with class 2 SD speed, offering a maximum write speed of 6MB per sec.
The mass production of the new SDHC cards is slated to begin in December, while the new microSDHC will see production in January 2009.
