Verizon Wireless has announced the launch of the popular Samsung Omnia touchscreen phone in the US.
Powered by Windows Mobile 6.1, the all-in-one smarphone offers reliable web browsing experience and quick email access through Microsoft Outlook Mobile. It also offers users the ability to manage their emails accounts effectively; organize Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents and access mobile IM using AIM, MSN and Yahoo!.
Supporting Samsung’s innovative TouchWiz user interface, the Omnia sports customized widgets and one-touch access to favorite and most commonly used applications and features.
At just 4.34 ounces, the slim and compact Samsung Omnia features include full on-screen QWERTY keyboard, haptic feedback, optical mouse and a 3.2-inch display. It comes equipped with a high-quality 5.0 megapixel camera with digital zoom; power LED flash; camcorder capability; Face Detection, Panorama, split shot and anti-shake camera settings; and SmileShot mode.
Measuring 4.41 x 2.24 x 0.52-inches (L x W x D), it also comes with stereo Bluetooth wireless technology and 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi technology. The Omnia has the ability to playback MP3 files as well as Divx and Xvid movie files. Another entertainment feature is the support for VZAppZone which allows users to download games, ringtones and wallpapers.
The elegant smartphone also employs VZ Navigator capability, enabling users to receive visual and audible directions to thousands of points of interest, maps of a location.
