Recently Western Digital introduced three new My Book storage solutions namely Home Edition, Office edition and Essential Edition. Expanding its range of My Book external hard drives, Western Digital has launched My Book Studio Edition designed for creative users. The new Studio Edition is compatible with Mac OS.
The new external drive from WD is equipped with high-performance quadruple interfaces (USB 2.0, FireWire 400/800 and eSATA). It further features automatic, continuous backup; synchronization and encryption of data and capacity gauge that shows how much space is available. The SmartPower feature saves the power by going into a standby mode after ten minutes of inactivity.
“From storage-hungry high-definition video editing to big design projects and managing photo shoots, creative professionals require high-speed performance and huge amounts of storage capacity for the rich multimedia content generated by their work. The My Book Studio Edition external hard drive delivers the speed they need, plus peace of mind with automatic back up of all their hard work,” said Jim Welsh, vice president and general manager of WD’s branded products and consumer electronics groups.
The My Book Studio Edition will be available in capacities ranging from 320GB to 1TB at prices between $199.99 USD to $399.99 USD, depending on the capacity.
