4GB Data Traveler USB 2.0 Flash Memory drive unveiled by Kingston

Data Traveler Kingston Kingston Technology has introduced a new USB 2.0 Flash memory drive called the DataTraveler Reader, which offers up to 4GB Flash storage capacity. It also includes an onboard SD/MMC expansion slot, which is able to read nine different Flash Memory card formats.

The Kingston DataTraveler Reader is available in storage capacities of 1GB, 2GB and 4GB. This flash memory drive is compatible with Mac OS 10.x and above, Windows 2000, XP and Vista platforms.

When the DataTraveler Reader is inserted into the USB port of a computer, the device is assigned two drive letters (e.g. G:/ and H:/). One drive letter is assigned to the DataTraveler’s internal storage while the other is designated for the expansion slot. Users can quickly and very easily work with both drives to either transfer files to the computer or between the USB drive and the Flash memory card inside the DataTraveler Reader.

The Kingston DataTraveler Reader has the SD/MMC expansion slot especially for reading nine different Flash memory card formats, which undoubtedly includes the new Secure Digital High –Capacity (SDHC) format. This new USB reader is compatible with SD, SDHC, miniSD, microSD, MMC, MMCplus, RS-MMC, MMCmobile and MMCmicro card formats.

Kingston’s DataTraveler Reader will be available by March end in India at AA Infoways, Avnet India, Ingram Micro, Kobian Electrnics and Transtek Infoways.
