Bowers & Wilkins MM-1 computer speakers unveiled

Bowers & Wilkins MM-1

The desktop machine will now become more rhythmic with the introduction of the latest Bowers & Wilkins MM-1 computer speakers. This audio device incorporates two drivers, one dedicated to bass and midrange frequencies and another for the treble.

With new DSP technologies such as Bowers & Wilkins’ Dynamic EQ, bass output is maximized, providing full range sound without the need of a subwoofer. MM-1 is designed for both Mac and PCs. However, these versatile speakers also feature an aux line-in socket, supporting iPod or CD and DVD players. Owing to the tweeters, resonance is dampened and high frequency sound is produced. The MM-1 streams audio directly from your computer via USB and converts the signal from digital to analogue internally.

MM-1’s ergonomic, pebble-shaped remote offers complete control over the speakers, as well as iTunes or Windows Media Player, from anywhere in the room. The dimensions of the speakers is 170mm (free standing) X 100mm X 100mm (free standing).

The MM-1 computer speakers will be made available in February 2010. Apparently, these speakers will carry a price tag of $499 (approx. Rs. 23,077).
