Archos unveils Archos3 portable media player

Archos3 PMP Archos takes the wrap of its new Archos3 portable media player. This PMP features a full tactile touchscreen on its visage.

Unlike the previous Archos5 and Archos7 which were Linux-based platform, the Archos3 is a dedicated media player. It incorporates an iPod like virtual scroll wheel. The 3-inch screen provides ample space to navigate through large music playlists.

This player provides support for viewing still images but promptly refuses to display videos. The device is compact in size and extremely lightweight and thus pretty much fits into any size pocket.

The company keeps the product page short and sweet but does mention that the Archos3 comes with 8GB in-built memory. The PMP is capable of providing around 14 hours of continuous usage. What more? Users can also record their voice on to this player.

Archos plans to keep silent about the pricing and availability details of the Archos3 until its launch.
