SlingCatcher Media Player

Sling Media has released its latest universal media player, dubbed SlingCatcher in the US, Canada and the UK.

Users can now effortlessly broadcast TV, Internet video and multimedia content to the TV with this elegant media player. It comes with a remote control that can operate and control any device that is connected to the device. The SlingCatcher also supports USB hard drives and flash drives to stream entertainment files for playback.

Blake Krikorian, co-founder and CEO of Sling Media, commented, “Thousands of video programs are available for viewing online for free, but until now there hasn’t been an easy way to watch them on a screen larger than your laptop computer. In addition, SlingCatcher will give Slingbox customers the ability to watch their home TV on another TV, something they have been asking for since we first introduced the original Slingbox in 2005.”

In addition, the SlingCatcher also incorporates both standard definition and high definition outputs such as HDMI, component video, S-Video and composite video along with both analog and digital audio connectors. It also comes pre-installed with a standard Ethernet jack to connect to the home network.

Three built-in applications that include SlingPlayer for TV, SlingProjector and My Media are also available for access, ensuring unparalleled control over the home television experience.

SlingCatcher is compatible with a host of sources such as camcorders, digital cameras, and personal DVD recordings. It also supports various media file formats that include WMV, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264 and Xvid in addition to .avi, .vob, .ifo, .mpg, .mov and .wma.

The SlingCatcher media player is priced at $299.99 (approx. Rs. 14,509).
