Sony NW-S710F and NW-S610F Video Walkman

Japan-based Sony has unveiled two new video walkman players, named the NW-S710F and NW-S610F.

The common features of the Sony Video Walkmans include a 1.8 inch LCD supporting a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, an FM tuner, Digital Sound Enhancement Engine and an easy to use search engine.

It also supports files such as MPEG-4 AVC/H.264, MP3, WMA, and ATARAC. The American and European models will also support WMA DRM.

The NW-S710F sports noise canceling technology, toggle switch to switch on/off the feature. The devices measures 79.5×42×11.5mm and weighs 50 grams. It is compatible with Windows only.

On the other hand, the NW-S610F comes with ATRAC, SoundStage and uses Windows Media Player 11. It does not carry Sony’s Open Digital Music Environment.

You can charge the battery of both the Sony video walkmans through USB, offering 33 hours of audio and 9.5 hours of video playback.

Sony offers NW-S710F video walkman in three capacities – 8GB, 4GB and 2GB with five different colors such as pink, black, blue, red and white. The Sony NW-S610F will come in 4GB and 2GB capacities and in an array of colors including pink, black and white.

The Sony NW-S710F and NW-S610F Video Walkman is expected to hit the stores in Japan from 20th October. The price starts from $135 (approx. Rs. 5,400) for 2GB to $250 (approx. Rs. 10,000) for 8GB version.
