Probably with a view to augment the gaming experience of players in India, the Kepler graphics architecture based Nvidia GeForce GTX680 and GeForce 600M GPUs have been introduced by the company. While the GTX680 GPU is meant for desktop systems, the 600M graphics processors have been designed to be used with gaming notebooks and Ultrabooks.

Successor to the 40nm Nvidia Fermi architecture, the Kepler design is based on the 28nm process technology. The GTX680 GPU for desktops claims to deliver faster performance while cutting down on the power consumption by up to 28 percent. Besides improved components like high-efficiency heat pipes, acoustic dampeners and custom fins, these processors boast of SMX multiprocessor block, GPU Boost technology along with FXAA and TXAA anti-aliasing and Adaptive VSync technologies amongst others. It can also support up to four additional displays including three 3D monitors, simultaneously.

“The Kepler architecture stands as Nvidia’s greatest technical achievement to date. It brings enormous performance and exceptional efficiency. Gamers will love the GTX680’s performance, as well as the fact that it doesn’t require loud fans or exotic power supplies. Ultrabook users will love the GT600M family for its performance and power efficiency,” stated Brian Kelleher, senior vice president of GPU engineering at Nvidia.

The Nvidia GeForce 600M series graphics processors are said to work efficiently in conjunction with Intel based laptops and Ultrabooks. Besides the 3D Vision technology for converting 2D content into 3D, these GPUs enhance the battery life with a little assistance from the Optimus technology. Users can expect performance improvements and stability from the company’s Verde notebook drivers, whereas the PhysX engine support should be responsible for rendering better visuals. Connection to 3DTVs is ensured by the optional 3DTV Play software hosted by these processors.

The Nvidia GeForce GTX680 GPU is now available along with systems from manufacturers like Galaxy, MSI, Asus, Palit, POV, Zotac, Sparkle and Gainward in India. The GeForce 600M family of GPUs will be incorporated in Ultrabooks and notebooks from companies like Lenovo, LG, Sony, Toshiba, Samsung, Acer, Dell, HP and Asus.
