The newly launched Epson WorkForce DS-30 color document scanner has emerged with features like one-touch scan-to-cloud capabilities and the TWAIN interface. Meant for business professionals, this computer peripheral weighs less than 12 ounces and offers full functionality in the office as well as on the go.

The scanner claims to add to the user’s productivity as it allows scanning, saving and sending documents on the move. Loaded with the Document Capture Pro software, its customizable one-touch button can be employed to scan to email, FTP and cloud services such as Google Docs, SharePoint and Evernote. Additionally, it scans documents measuring up to 8.5 x 14 inches, business cards and also rigid ID cards.

“Epson is dedicated to increasing productivity and efficiency with its business products, and the WorkForce DS-30 provides on-the-go professionals with a scanning solution that is flexible and robust. Expanding Epson’s already successful line-up of business document scanners, the WorkForce DS-30 delivers full functionality and top-tier image quality in an easy-to-use portable package for a wide range of business applications,” stated Mark Pickard, product manager, Document Scanners, Epson.

The peripheral’s correction tools let users remove punch holes, enhance text quality and correct image skew. Embedded with TWAIN driver, this device is apparently the only one in the industry with both the TWAIN interface as well as one-touch scan-to-cloud capabilities, says the company. The easy-to-carry scanner can be attached to laptops and systems via its USB port and the simplex scanning creates text with improved image quality at about 600dpi. Moreover, it is also pre-loaded with software including NewSoftPageManager, ABBYY FineReader and NewSoftBizCard.

The Epson WorkForce DS-30 priced at $179 (approx. Rs. 9,220), will be available in March this year.
