OreObject Sphere 2 mouse gets drenched in titanium, 24K gold and platinum

OreObject Sphere 2

Combining technology and luxury is the freshly unveiled OreObject Sphere 2 mouse that comes dressed in gold and silver. A successor to the Spheretouch mouse, this computer peripheral boasts of a surgical grade stainless steel round design which not only looks sleek, but also ensures safety, health and recyclability.

The latest mouse to roll out is equipped with 3-stage, on-the-fly resolution adjustment and four-way navigation. With an appearance of a shiny disco ball, it is accompanied by a detachable, tangle-free, braided USB cord. The Sphere 2 has been created by Charles Tseng, the founder of OreObject who had developed the company in 2009.

Tseng wished to outdo his combination of architecture and technology that he had brought together while making Spheretouch. Thus the Sphere 2, which supposedly offers a smoother navigation experience, was conceived. It is integrated with touch sensitive buttons, owing to less finger exertion. The unique orb structure lets the owners’ fingers dangle freely when not operating the mouse.

Besides comfort, this device claims to deliver a more fluid and faster browsing experience. The incorporated easy-spin scroll wheel makes it possible for users to easily scroll up, down or side by simply spinning or pressing down on top of the sphere in the desired direction. There is also the Duo Mode functionality that lets PC owners customize their navigational experience as they choose to control the mouse through touch or by click.

The OreObject Sphere 2 mouse is now available for pre-order online at OreObject.com. It comes in three sleek finishes namely, titanium, 24K gold and platinum that are priced at $185 (approx. Rs. 9,625), $290 (approx. Rs. 15,088) and $320 (approx. Rs. 16,649), respectively. Every piece is accompanied by a hand-sewn carry pouch. While the titanium model has a microfiber pouch, the gold and platinum mice possess one made of suede.
