OreObject reveals SPHEREtouch mouse

OreObject SPHEREtouch

OreObject outs its new ergonomic and lifestyle peripheral, the SPHEREtouch handcrafted mouse. The SPHEREtouch represents the flagship model of the company’s premier line of computing peripherals. It equips innovative, touch-sensitive buttons which offer comfort to the user’s fingers compared to the conventional mouse.

Unlike the conventional mouse that requires the user to exert force while clicking on the button, the SPHEREtouch mouse only requires a slight tapping. Moreover, the innovative touch-sensitive buttons and the vertical button placement have been designed to let fingers dangle freely when no button actuation is needed. An internal study conducted in 2009 reveals that an average mouse user clicks over 800 times per day.

“You can imagine how much exertion that is applied to a single finger which also does scrolling,” said Charles Tseng, founder & chief designer at OreObject.

OreObject’s computer mouse is a fusion of creativity, innovation and luxury. After an intensive material selection process, OreObject offers the SPHEREtouch with both advanced functionality and durability. Designed for left- and right-handed users, it offers compatibility with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Mac OS X Leopard version 10.4 or later.

“It’s very intuitive and creative way of scrolling. You will never go back to scrolling with your index finger again,” said Charles Tseng, founder & chief designer at OreObject.

The device is built of medical-grade stainless steel enclosure with high quality ceramic feet ensuring weightlessness on smooth/non-abrasive surfaces. Users can easily scroll through long documents as well as zoom in and out of apps such as Google Earth. The in-box contents include a nylon-mesh tangle-free USB cord, duo-mode buttons, laser-engraved logos, and microfiber travel pouch.

SPHEREtouch can now be pre-ordered through OreObject’s online boutique and is expected to ship in early March. Users will be offered three precious metal trims at the launch–stainless steel finish at a price of $155 (approx Rs. 7,127), polished titanium coating for $175 (approx Rs. 8,047) and polished platinum finish for $225 (approx Rs. 10,344).
