Sony unwraps its newest offering which claims to be the fastest DVD writer. The new Sony DVD Multi Writer DRU-870S records at a speed of 24X and also turns green with its eco-friendly packaging. It reduces the time required to burn discs and enables faster tasks.
The device reads as well as writes to other formats at an elevated speed. The DRU-870S’s speed enhancing function brings to users DVD-Rs and DVD+Rs at 24X. Moreover, its retail packaging has been built from recycled paper. This is a part of Sony’s initiative towards a greener environment.

The DRU-870S ZR has the ability to read and write all DVD and CD formats for Windows Vista/ XP/ 2000 on one drive at an enhanced speed of 24X. It ensures quality and reliability with the Dust-proof mechanism. As most of the optical drive failures are due to dust, Sony also implements six sponges inside the bottom cover, bezel and PWD to avoid such mishaps. This increases the life span of the product by 50 percent.
The DRU-870S ZR packs in a SATA interface for easier installation into desktop PC cases and bundles up Nero 9 Express Essentials DVD/CD mastering software. At 0.6 Kg, the device has quality features such as automatically adjusting CD-DA/VCD/DVD data extraction for smooth reading, optimized writing quality with automatic writing strategy adjustment, buffer under run protection and vibration reduction system.
With a one year warranty, the Sony DRU-870S ZR rewritable drive is now available at an MRP of INR 1900 in India.
