MSI US announces availability of Pine Trail Wind U135 netbook

MSI US has declared the availability of the Wind U135 netbook that features the powerful yet efficient Intel Pine Trail Platform with the Atom N450 processor.

Dressed in Silver, Charcoal, Ruby and Sapphire, this new addition to the Wind clan adds a 160GB or 250 GB hard drive, 1 GB of DDR2 memory and runs on Windows 7 Starter. The special edition netbook claims to increase battery life by 15 percent and the overall performance by 10 percent with its new CPU and single chipset architecture that consumes mere 7 watts.

It lets users choose between a 3-cell and a 6-cell battery that delivers a battery life of 7.5 hours. The U135 can also take advantage of MSI’s exclusive MSI ECO Engine Technology and its efficient LED display. The technology lets one choose among 5 power modes like Gaming, Movie, Presentation, Document and Turbo Battery.

The U135 packs in design upgrades which include a raised chiclet keyboard and a color film printed case. About 20 percent larger keys improve typing accuracy while the notebook sports a glossy finish. Some other attributes are 1.3M webcam, D-Sub port, 3 USB 2.0 ports and 4×1 card reader.

The new Wind U135 with a one year limited warranty is now available through retailers and also at Amazon at a price ranging from $309.99 to $329.99 (approx Rs. 14,376 to Rs. 15,304).
