Bang & Olufsen brings innovative BeoLab 11 subwoofer

BeoLab11 Subwoofer

Have euphonious ears but missing a powerful subwoofer that can rock those still chairs? Don’t arch shoulders anymore! Bang & Olufsen has just slid the wraps off BeoLab 11, a new elegant subwoofer which combines excellent bass performance, intriguing design and unorthodox placement possibilities.

Designed to be high in portability and small in size, the new music equipment delivers truly amazing bass quality for its size. The distinctive design of BeoLab 11 enables it to be emplaced on the floor, in a corner, or mounted on the wall. Snoozing in a sculptural design, the eye-popping subwoofer proffers a significant addition to the bass experience in any small to medium loudspeaker setup, adding low frequencies from 300Hz and down.

The gorgeous looking device is composed of two identical loudspeaker cabinets, with baffles facing each other. The outer shells are made of aluminum and pave the way in silver and white shades. Pretty weightily, due to the omni-directional properties of the bass, the performance is not dependent upon orientation, allowing the unit to be rotated as desired when positioned on the floor.

“Thanks to its acoustic principle, which reduces to a minimum the vibrations normally experienced from a subwoofer, BeoLab 11 can be placed either on the floor or can be hung on a wall – and it will offer great performance in either position. Hanging a subwoofer on the wall is quite unorthodox. However, in many home environments this may be the preferred placement, as it will be possible to hide the cables and it will free up floor space,” elaborated Michael Jensen, Product Manager Bang & Olufsen.

Further, beneath BeoLab 11’s glossy shell, it holds true to the Bang & Olufsen tradition of providing groundbreaking sound quality in loudspeakers. The device can also produce the lowest frequencies with stunning clarity and precision. It comes in arresting color options including black, dark grey, red, blue, and golden anodized aluminum.

The alluring BeoLab 11 will be available in the North America by mid-May 2010. Depending on the color and mounting options, prices range from nearly $2,000 (approx Rs. 88,880) to about $2,600 (approx Rs. 1,15,544).
