Pioneer unfurls DVR-XD09 Portable DVD CD Writer

Netbook and notebook users can now incorporate the latest portable DVD/CD writer. Pioneer announced its new ultra-lightweight, slim portable DVD/CD writer called DVR-XD09. It is claimed to be the world’s smallest DVD/CD writer available.

This device weighs around eight ounces and is just about larger than a music CD case. It boasts of an ultra compact design and it can be easily connected to a notebook or a PC through the USB 2.0 port. It allows the user to transport, connect and back up essential data files in any location setting as well as across multiple computers.

“With more than three decades of optical disc advancements, we are excited to once again modernize the DVD/CD computer writer category with our new drive that combines high capacity, high quality performance in one of the world’s most slender form factors,” said Steve Cohn, director of optical sales for Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.

It incorporates a dual layer DVD-R write support that upgrades the storage capacity on a disk from 4.7GB to 8.5GB. With the new Pioneer DVR-XD09, netbook and notebook users can access the internet as well as back-up their data without any problem

The DVR-XD09 will begin shipping in August and will be cost an estimate price of $79.99 (approx. Rs 3,867).
