Users can now experience surround sound music while on the move, with the latest range of Xplod in-dash CD receivers. The newest range from Xplod offers finest connectivity features.
The innovative Xplod line up includes the CDX-GT640UI, CDX-GT540UI along with CDX-GT640UI and CDX-GT540UI. The new Sony in-dash CD receivers incorporate RDS (Radio Data System) technology. Transmission of artist, track, and song information (of compatible stations) are now made possible owing to this technology, enabling users to view detailed information of the songs.

With this new line of car stereos, Sony Xplod is building on our reputation for offering great sound and convenient technology, all at an affordable price,†mentioned Mike Kahn, director of Sony’s mobile electronics business.
The CDX-GT640UI and CDX-GT540UI CD receivers are inclusive of a front USB 1-wire input and a front aux-in connection, enabling users to connect their iPod, iPhone, Walkman and other digital music players effortlessly. Users can now quickly navigate their huge music libraries employing Sony’s exclusive ZAPPIN, Quick-BrowZer and Jump Mode technologies.
Each stereo equipped with DM+ Advanced technology boosts the sound quality of compressed music files. The CDX-GT640UI presents both blue and green key illumination as well as three preamp sub outputs. However, the CDX-GT540UI offers blue key illumination and two preamp sub outputs.
Along with these two in-dash receivers, Sony has also introduced two budget CD receivers. The CDX-GT340 and CDX-GT240 incorporates a front aux in, enabling users to play MP3 and WMA music file playback easily. Both these value driven car receivers feature a wireless remote for easy control from anywhere in the car.
The CDX-GT340 stereo is both satellite, HD and iPod adapter ready and comes with blue key illumination and two preamp sub outputs, whereas the CDX-GT240 stereo includes red key illumination and one preamp sub output.
The CDX-GT640UI and CDX-GT540UI are currently available at sonystyle.com for around $160 (approx. Rs. 7,787) and $140 (approx. Rs. 6,813), respectively. However, the CDX-GT340 and CDX-GT240 are more reasonable and can be purchased for $100 (approx. Rs. 4,867) and $80 (approx. Rs. 3,893) respectively. These devices will be made available at retail outlets in the coming month.
