Microsoft LifeCam Cinema webcam debuts

Microsoft LifeCam Cinema Microsoft will apparently change people’s approach towards web cameras with its latest LifeCam Cinema. Unlike the standard webcams, the latest webcam from Microsoft is capable of capturing HD video in 1280 x 720 resolution at 30fps, reports Techfresh.

Reportedly, the LifeCam Cinema is equipped with a glass lens, auto focus, 4x digital zoom and a USB 2.0 interface. The device features a digital, noise-canceling microphone that is mounted on the top of the camera. The body of the webcam is made up of aluminum and its stand is compatible with both desktop PCs and notebooks.

The LifeCam Cinema is equipped with Windows Live call button that is mounted behind the microphone. Apparently, the system requirements for the Microsoft webcam are on a higher side with at least a dual core 1.6GHz processor. However, Microsoft suggests a 3GHz dual core processor and 2GB of memory. The device is attuned with Windows 7 as well as with Windows Vista and Windows XP OS.

Apparently, the Microsoft device employs ClearFrame technology that provides smooth and comprehensive videos. The webcam is also compatible with Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Movie Maker and Windows Live Photo Gallery.

The Microsoft LifeCam Cinema would be made available from September 9, 2009. The web cab would be retailed for $80 (approx. Rs. 3,900).
