Elecom outs 3-megapixel web camera

Elecom Web Camera Elecom has unveiled its new UCAM-DLX300B 3-megapixel web camera. This webcam can record video at the resolution of 1280×720 pixels. It saves the images in the MJPG file format.

Users can utilize this plug-and-play web camera by simply connecting it to the USB port of a computer. This eliminates the need of installing a separate driver from the CD-Rom. Users can enjoy video-chatting on the 20″ LCD, thanks to its 1/4-inch CMOS sensor along with the 3 megapixel camera.

The included 0.8 m size cable is said to be apt for notebook PC users. The web camera is available in black, silver, and white colors that may complement the colorful PCs. It also comes with a special pouch that enables users to carry it easily wherever they go.

The system employing this web camera requires Intel Pentium4 (1.4 GHz or higher) CPU, AMD Sempron larger, Windows Vista/Windows XP operating system, minimum 512 MB internal memory, minimum 260MB HDD, 64 MB graphic memory and DirectX: 9.0C or later.

Besides Windows OS, the camera can be used on Mac OS X (10.4.9 to 10.4.11, 10.5 to 10.5.6) without the hassles of a dedicated driver. Elecom UCAM-DLX300B 3-megapixel web camera is now available at around $128 (approx. Rs.6125) through GeekStuff4U.
