Via presents its first Em-ITX board with Via Nano Processor called the EITX-3000. This fanless, durable and ultra slim device is designed to perform in temperatures ranging from -10 degrees to 70 degrees C.
Located on the reverse side of the board are the Via Nano processor and Via VX800 media system processor. The Via EITX-3000 is ideal for long running applications like Kiosk, ATM and factory automation. Via Nano ultra low voltage processor with a choice of 1.3GHz or 1.0GHz is incorporated into the device to produce high performance.
The Via VX800 media system processor located in the EITX-3000 board includes a Via Chrome9 HC3 DirectX 9.0c graphic and video controller. For smooth media playback upon multiple displays, the Via VX800 includes WMV9 hardware decoding acceleration, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4.

The Via EITX-3000 board boasts of a Nano processor which has loads of features such as multi-configurable dual on-board LVDS, a VGA port and dual gigabyte networking. A DC-DC power converter with a power input of DC 7V ~ 36V supports AT and ATX modes. There are also four serial ports located on-board that can be configured through BIOS selection. A range of EM-IO expansion boards developed by Via are available with the Via EITX-3000.
The Via EITX-3000 includes networking with dual VIA Velocity VT6130 Gigabit Ethernet controllers through two RJ45 ports. Features supporting this network are Wake On LAN and PXE. The Via EITX-3000 board includes two S-ATA ports and one compact flash socket with HD audio for storage support. This is provided through the Via Vinyl VT1708B HD audio codec.
The LVDS ports in the Via EITX-3000 have two 24-bit single channel interfaces with panel resolutions of up to 1280 x 1024. The LVDS ports include independently configured resolutions and refreshed rates. This is combined with a VGA port which supports resolutions up to 1920 x 1440. The Via EITX-3000 also features a programmable WatchDog timer.
Located on the front panel I/O of the Via EITX-3000 are two USB 2.0 ports. Also available via pin headers are four additional ports. Two from the four ports support RS-232/422/485 ports. Users can select through the BIOS without the need of jumpers. Available through pin headers is a PS/2 compatible bi-directional parallel port. Power and HDD activity are indicated by Status lights.
Via EITX-3000 samples will be offered to project customers by early May 2009. The price of the Via EITX-3000 is not known yet.
