AT&T introduces latest line-up of Smartphones and Quick Messaging Phones

AT&T Phones

AT&T presents multi-featured phones from Samsung, Nokia and LG which make text messaging and e-mailing a cinch. The new line-up includes smartphones like the Samsung Propel Pro and the Nokia E71x along with the Samsung Impression, Samsung Magnet, LG Xenon and LG Neon.

Samsung Propel Pro

The Samsung Propel Pro is an advanced version of the Samsung Propel. The compact slider phone is silver and chrome in color and has a QWERTY keypad. Different applications can run on Windows Mobile 6.1 which is enabled on the phone. The Samsung Propel Pro includes Wi-Fi and is ideal for business users as well as casual users.

Nokia E71x

The Nokia E71x has a black steel finish and is dubbed as the slimmest phone to hit US markets as it is only 10mm in size. The mobile phone is based on S60 on Symbian OS and has many Symbian-based applications. Despite its sleek appearance, it includes a variety of applications such as Wi-Fi and AT&T’s services and AT&T Navigator.

David Christopher, chief marketing officer, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets mentioned, “Smartphones and quick messaging phones are no longer for early-adopters and text-happy teens. The ability to text often, or check your email from a phone is easy and more customers demand these features. These phones are a great addition to our best-in-class lineup and we can’t wait to get them in our customers’ hands in the coming weeks.”

Samsung Impression

This slim, metallic blue mobile phone incorporates a 3.0 megapixel camera with camcorder. Sporting a touch-screen on the outside, the device comes with buttons on the inner part. The Samsung Impression has an active-matrix organic light-emitting diode screen which gives users a bright and clear display. The screen measures 3.2 inches and has a full browser.

Samsung Magnet

The low-cost mobile phone is orange and black in color. This sleek bar-shape phone features an integrated camera and WAP browser. Users who rely a lot on text messages can avail of the Quick messaging feature enabled on the phone.

LG Xenon

The LG Xenon incorporates a 2.0 megapixel camera and can be found in shades of black, blue and red. It has a large touch screen display with customizable features. The mobile also includes all the services of AT&T like Napster Mobile and eMusic Mobile. There is a full keypad which allows users to easily type and send text messages.

LG Neon

The LG Neon is yet another low-cost mobile phone which has the quick messaging feature. The device is a green and white touch screen with full keyboard. Users can take pictures and videos with its 2.0 megapixel camera. Other features like Mobile Email and AT&T Music are enabled on the LG Neon. Customers can also gain access to Instant Messaging and mobile Internet from their phone.

The price of the Samsung Propel Pro is $149.99 (approx. Rs.7,630). The Nokia E71x and the LG Xeon are available for a price of $99.99 (approx. Rs.5,099) each. The Samsung Impression can be acquired for a price of $199.99 (approx. Rs.10,180). The price of the Samsung Magnet and the LG Neon is not yet released.

The carrier also offers various data plans for the devices. Messaging bundles of 200 and 1500 cost $5 (approx. Rs.254) and $15 (approx. Rs.764) respectively. Unlimited messages cost $20 (approx.1,018). For AT&T FamilyTalk plan users, unlimited messaging for all lines is $30 (approx. Rs.1,528).

Users of the Samsung Propel Pro and Samsung Impression pay $199.99 (approx. Rs.10,180) and $249.99 (approx. Rs.12,719) respectively. For the LG Xenon and the Nokia E71x, customers pay $149.99 (approx. Rs.7,630) each. On all four devices, users receive $50 (approx.Rs.2,540) AT&T promotion cards.

The LG Neon, Samsung Magnet and Nokia E71x phones are expected to be available soon. The Samsung Propel Pro will be available in AT&T stores on April 14 and the Samsung Impression will be out on April 7. The LG Xenon will be released on April 8.
