Loiminchay Audio has introduced its new Kandinsky horn/hybrid speaker system. Sporting a unique and exceptional appearance, it ensures an awesome musical experience. The Kandinsky speakers are a blend of magnificent sound, beautiful craftsmanship and a sculptural and unique look.
Designed by Patrick Chu, Kandinsky horn/hybrid speaker system is made by his dedicated team in China. The cabinets feature sixteen coats of the finest hand-polished lacquer. The lustrous cabinet is sealed in such a way that no air bubbles exist to leak the internal pressurized air. Its each braced enclosure is carefully crafted from Birch MultiPly laminate that eventually results into an extremely beautiful and nonresonant structure. The bass enclosure as well as the magnificent horn is hand crafted during fabrication.
The Kandinsky hybrid speaker supports frequencies from 1500Hz to 27 kHz and has a unique hand crafted 19-inch horn that is driven by a 2-inch beryllium high-compression driver.
The top and bass module is fabricated from 30mm/1.2-inch Birch MultiPly laminate. Its 12-inch woofer is mounted on 1-inch concrete plinth covered with fine leather. The 10 inch midbass driver further augments the 12-inch woofer to provide an enhanced original recording environment.
The Kandinsky offers 90dB/2m efficiency at 8 ohms and handles power up to 100 watt. Weighing about 200lbs, it equips a biwired silver internal wiring harness, heavy-duty binding posts, an adjustable bass control.
“Measurements are very important but only part of the story,†explains Patrick. “Everything makes a difference in the sound; the choice of drivers, the shape and density of the cabinet, how well it’s braced, the quality and quantity of the lamb’s wool stuffing, how the sound waves flow around the cabinet’s exterior surfaces, and even which lacquer finish you choose! That’s right, a Kandinsky in high gloss piano black sounds slightly different than one in MultiClear lacquer or the custom-order solid cherry. That’s why every pair’s crossover is optimized for the best possible overall sound.â€
The Loiminchay Kandinsky speaker is perfect for medium as well as large rooms. Its extraordinary shape reveals an exotic built quality that is complemented by its deep natural luster of clear lacquer over Birch MultiPly and the rich piano finish. The beryllium compression driver offers good quality and drive in the upper and middle frequencies.
