Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Desktop 7000 Microsoft has announced the Natural Ergonomic Desktop 7000, its new addition to the wireless keyboard and mouse market. This new desktop is a combination of the company’s bestselling wired keyboard, the Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 and the award-wining Natural Wireless laser Mouse 6000.

The new model offers 2.4 GHz wireless capability, which works up to 30 feet away from the transceiver making a comfortable experience on the computer. This 2.4GHz technology features:

  • Wireless freedom: Giving user the right to sit and use the product even if it’s out of sight.
  • Easy setup and use: Plug-in the tiny transceiver and consumer can start using the keyboard.
  • Confident connection with virtually no interference: When interference is encountered, the technology “hops” frequency multiple computers.
  • The design offers health benefits reducing carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms as the keyboard has a cushioned wrist rest. Additionally, the features consist:

  • Proprietary “gull wing” design: This reduces the reach and unnecessary motion of using keys and offers a natural and comfortable position.
  • Optical palm rest: a 7-degree reversed slope, 12-degree split and 14-degree gable encourages better arm and wrist alignment.
  • “We’re very excited to deliver this product to help make the time our customers spend on their computers more comfortable. The Natural Ergonomic Desktop 7000 combines the best of technology and comfort with 30-foot range, 2.4 GHz wireless technology and groundbreaking ergonomic design,” said Dan Odell, Ph.D., user researcher and ergonomist, Hardware Group at Microsoft.

The keyboard and mouse both delivers a two-color battery life indicator that warns users to replace the batteries – red indicates low battery whereas green (glowing and fading off) indicates the insertion of batteries.

  • Easy-to-access forward and back buttons
  • Zoom – a slider to zoom in and out when navigating large documents or images
  • Customizable Hot Keys such as Mail, Web/Home, Search and more
  • The baseball-shaped design of the wireless mouse consists of elements such as:

  • Vertical right slide: for user to rest comfortably on the side of the hand and not on the carpal tunnel area.

  • The Microsoft’s ergonomic mouse features:
