Asus GigaX 1116i+ and the GigaX1124i+ network switches

Asus India has just announced that its GigaX 1116i+ and GigaX 1124i+ networking switches are immediately available. These two networking switches which are the latest products in Asus’ networking product portfolio are meant for Small and medium size enterprises.

The Asus GigaX 1116i+ and the GigaX1124i+ network switches feature excellent flexibility, security and performance. Moreover, Asus’ GigaX 1116i+ and the GigaX1124i+ are Web Smart 16 and 24 port Layer 2 Gigabit switches respectively with 4 SFP (Mini Gbix) for fiber connections. They also offer advanced management features that are normally available from a Managed Layer 2 switch to system administrators and that to at a very low price.

The new Asus GigaX 1116i+ and the GigaX1124i+ have support for 4 SFP slots, thus providing a higher uplink bandwidth and also greater redundancy for connections when used with the trunking feature. Through the user-friendly web-based management tool, MIS professionals and even average networking technicians can easily setup VLANs, priority queues, link aggregation, port mirroring; and utilize the other striking features.

Both the Asus 1116i+ and the GigaX1124i+ network switches support both IEEE 802.1x port-based network access control and Access Control List (source IP filter). Besides, ASUS’ unique Q-Fan feature automatically adjusts the fan’s speed according to the system’s loading and temperature to reduce fan noise for a quieter environment. Above all, both models provide ASUS Centralized Networking Management (ACNM) as well as auto MDI/MDIX duplex mode negotiation functions.

The key features of the Asus GigaX 1116i+ and Asus GigaX 1124i+ Networking Switches are as follows:
Complies with IEEE 802.3 (10Base-T), IEEE 802.3u (100Base-TX), IEEE 802.3ab (1000Base-T) standards.

  • Auto negotiation of speed (10/100/1000Mbps), and duplex mode. Note that 1000Mbps supports only full duplex mode.
  • 8K MAC addresses with automatic address learning and aging.
  • IEEE 802.3x Flow Control support for 10/100/1000Mbps full duplex.
  • Back pressure support for 10/100Mbps half duplex.
  • Auto MDI/MDIX
