Sony Xperia E4g smartphone launched in India with LTE

Sony has officially launched a new LTE smartphone in India through the Xperia E4g which carries a price tag of Rs 13290. That amount is certainly a high one for an entry-level release, especially since the competition offers mid-range features for less.

The main contender for the Sony Xperia E4g is the new Moto E 4G that’s available for almost half of what you’d pay for this smartphone. And the latter handset also sports nearly identical features with a few aces up its sleeves. Firstly, it has Android 5.0 out of the box and will soon get version 5.1.

The Sony handset, however, runs on KitKat with no official word on when it will taste Lollipop. On the upside, the phone offers various enhancements which come exclusive from the Japanese OEM, including the Power Saver Mode that disables all unnecessary functions to prolong battery life which is one of the key features on this device.

The Xperia E4g comes with a 2300mAh power back which is a rather large one for an entry-level phone. And it doesn’t have any power hungry components either, as it packs a 4.7-inch qHD LCD panel, a 1.5GHz quad core MediaTek processor and basic memory provisions of 1GB RAM and 8GB storage. Additionally, there’s also a 5MP rear camera with an LED flash and a 2MP snapper on the front for video calling.
