Yu Yuphoria with Lollipop, 64-bit processor and 5-inch HD screen launched

After months of teasing, the Yu Yuphoria smartphone has made its debut in India and manages to live up to everyone’s expectations. The company says that the phone will sell for Rs 6999 which makes it a huge problem for the Lenovo A6000 Plus and the Redmi 2 from Xiaomi that are selling for around the same amount.

Additionally, the Yu Yuphoria has specs very similar to what the other two devices have to offer and it also has a few aces up its sleeve. The device isn’t as powerful as the Yureka handset which has an octa core Snapdragon 615 processor. But it comes close with the 64-bit Snapdragon 410 in a 1.2GHz quad core configuration.

The Cyanogen OS 12 which is based on Android Lollipop is one of the main highlights here as the custom platform offers loads of customizations and tweaks. Then there’s the gorgeous design the Yu handset flaunts. It features a metal frame which extends to the sides acting as a protective ring. And for better protection to the display, a Gorilla Glass 3 layer sits on the front.
