Microsoft Lumia 435 with dual SIM slots launched in India for Rs 5999

The Microsoft Lumia 435 smartphone which is the most affordable WP8.1 release from the Redmond giant has made its way to India. Well, the device isn’t the cheapest of its kind in the country, but it offers a bang for every buck at Rs 5999.

Judging by the price, it looks like the company wants to go up against Google’s Android One handsets. The Microsoft Lumia 435 comes with the latest Lumia Denim update running over Windows Phone 8.1 and it’ll also be amongst the first to get the upcoming Windows 10 release.

The phone was launched just last month and it’s no surprise that it’s already on sale in India as the company is focusing a lot on the affordable smartphone segment. And it shouldn’t be long before the Lumia 532 also makes its debut. The Lumia 435 being an entry-level release offers a basic 4-inch WVGA display.

And surprisingly enough, there are dual cameras onboard. For the interior, Microsoft has furnished the handset with a 1.2GHz quad core Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of storage and a microSD card slot which supports up to 128GB. Additionally, there are dual SIM card slots and a 1560mAh battery.

What’s interesting is that Microsoft isn’t offering the Lumia 435 through its exclusive Amazon store, but via the old Nokia Indiatimes portal which is now renamed. The phone is currently listed in black, white, orange and green.
