Oplus XonPhone 5 is an attractive mid-range phone for Rs 7999

The Oplus XonPhone 5 is a new player in the smartphone game and it has been launched in India carrying a good deal of features complemented by an affordable price tag. At Rs 7999, this handset offers a mid-range Android experience and it even delivers version 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box.

You may have never head of Oplus and that’s mainly because it has only two devices in its portfolio for India, the XonPhone 5 and the XonPad 7 tablet which went official earlier this year with 3G voice calling. Apart from offering the latest version of Android, the handset also has the advantage where design and specs are concerned.

Most handsets in this price range deliver entry-level features, but with the XonPhone 5, you get a 5-inch 720p HD IPS display with a 320ppi pixel density. The usual 1.3GHz quad core processor with Mali 400 graphics can be found here with an entire gigabyte of RAM and there’s dual SIM support as well, where one slot is for a micro SIM and the other for a mini SIM.

The phone also has the highest onboard storage in its category offering 16GB of flash memory and a microSD card slot. The Oplus handset isn’t alone to offer attractive features at an affordable price and it will face steep competition from local OEMs.
