8GB iPhone 5C said to have arrived in India, priced at Rs 37,500

Following its launch in many other markets from around the world, the 8GB iPhone 5C has finally made its way into India it seems. The device apparently has its price set at Rs 37,500 which is confusing, as its 16GB model can be bought in the country now at Rs 34,400.

However, NDTV Gadgets has mentioned that Apple is likely to announce buyback offers for this variant which will make it available for around Rs 30,000. We’d advise you to take this news with a pinch of salt though, as one of our sources within the company’s Indian operations has mentioned that official pricing still hasn’t reached the retailers yet.

The above mentioned site has also revealed that Cupertino will be applying a Rs 3,000 discount on the device for the first few days as an introductory offer. Moreover, it will apparently also throw in a case for the smartphone with the purchase.

The 8GB iPhone 5C made its debut back in March this year as a cheaper alternative to the cheapest mainstream iPhone. While it initially made its way into UK, France, Germany, Australia and China, the device entered several other nations in the following months.

Anyway, the 8GB iPhone 5C model seems like a good deal for those looking to save up on some cash by going for lesser memory, but if it will indeed be priced at Rs 37,500 it wouldn’t make much sense.
