The iPhone 5S and 5C have been made available in India and Reliance Communications have decided to sell it on contract in the country. This will be the first time when users in India can sign a two-year contract and pick up a gadget without forking out any amount as down payment.
It should be noted that only the 16GB variants of the gadgets are available with zero down payment and potential buyers will have to shell out some money to get hold of the handset if they go for the 32GB or 64GB version of the devices. The 32GB iPhone 5C costs Rs 11,600 and the 32GB and 64GB 5S models are priced at Rs 20,992 and Rs 19,992 respectively.
Moreover, customers who opt for the colorful smartphone will have to pay Rs 2,599 every month as installment, while the EMI for the 5S stands at Rs 2,999. Apart from the handset cost, these monthly rentals include phone charges for the Reliance GSM number. The service provider offers unlimited calls, text and 3G data for the aforementioned monthly amount for a period of two years.
Singing a 24-month agreement is mandatory and those who opt for this system will not be receiving bills for the entire term period. Users will not be charged for roaming in the country either. However, they are supposed to pay for international calls and international roaming. 3G data will be available in 3G circles and all other regions can enjoy GPRS speeds.
The iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C are already up for grabs in India for the aforementioned upfront costs and monthly rentals through Reliance Communications.
