Xolo Play 8X-1200 gives games very capable hardware on a budget

Xolo has added a new member to its gaming-focused smartphone lineup, the Play 8X-1200, which packs a serious punch through high-end components. That being said, the phone doesn’t come cheap as it’ll cost you Rs 19999 at full retail.

The Xolo Play 8X-1200 features a moderately attractive design and is on the bulky side measuring 9.7mm thick. Well, its key selling points aren’t in the looks, but the hardware employed. To offer smooth and lag-free gaming, there’s a 2GHz octa core MediaTek MT6592T chipset onboard that features the Cortex A7 processor and the Mali 450 GPU clocked at 700MHz.

The 5-inch OGS display employed here proffers 1080p FHD resolution and a pixel density of 441ppi. A 5MP camera has been fitted on the front, while the rear sports a 13MP PureCel lens with dual LED flash and 1080p video recording. Head over to the inside and you’ll find dual SIM card slots and 2GB of RAM.

Sadly, memory provisions are limited to the 32GB flash storage as there’s no expansion slot. If you’re worried about battery life, the 2300mAh call can deliver up to 24 hours of 2G talk time or around 7.46 hours of Wi-Fi web browsing. Expect half of this estimate when playing demanding games.
