BSNL low-cost Bharat phone is internet capable and priced at Rs 1099

BSNL has tied up with Noida-based Pantel Technologies to launch the internet-capable Bharat phone for Rs 1099 in India. The device hasn’t hit availability status yet, even though the company has revealed all the details in relation to its main specifications and features. According to various sources, the device will reach the market in this half of June itself.

The Bharat phone by BSNL and Pantel is not the first in the series, if you recall that the two companies released a handset with similar specs (image posted below) back in November 2013 for Rs 1799. It’s not clear as to what has changed with the upcoming cell phone or whether we’re seeing the same one enjoying a relaunch with a reduced price considering the practically identical features sheet shared by the two.
