Nokia EOS Windows Phone with PureView coming later this year?

Nokia EOS PureView

Rumors concerning a certain Nokia EOS Windows Phone handset that is deployed with the PureView technology, are now doing the rounds on the web. If these speculations are to be believed, the device will make its debut later this year.

Specifications of the EOS PureView have not been disclosed as yet, but some unidentified sources of The Verge reveal that this device will make its debut in the US via AT&T. Considering that the smartphone being designed by the Finnish manufacturer in question has acquired Microsoft’s approval, it is likely to be a part of the OEM’s Lumia range.

Reportedly, the device will be housing a sensor similar to the one found in the 808 PureView. Although the Lumia 920 takes advantage of the PureView imaging technology, its sensor is not as powerful as that of the aforementioned Symbian-powered handset. Additionally, the ‘upcoming’ gadget will come encased in a form factor constructed using aluminum, instead of a polycarbonate body like most of the other Lumia phones. It may have squared edges too.

Besides this, Nokia has also planned to introduce a couple of other mobile gadgets, but hasn’t gone on record to confirm their arrival. One of them is the Catwalk, which will apparently act as a mid-range substitute to the flagship Lumia 920. The device is slated to hit the market scene in early summer and may be enclosed in aluminum as well. And if that’s not enough, a Windows RT tablet seems to be in the pipeline and gearing up to be launched in the first half of 2013 itself.

808 Phone

For refresher’s sake, the 808 makes the most of a rear-facing camera with a 41MP sensor and features like Carl Zeiss optics and pixel oversampling technology. It tags along a 4-inch Super AMOLED ClearBlack touchscreen with Corning Gorilla Glass to keep scrapes and scratches at bay. Featuring 512MB of RAM, the Wi-Fi-enabled device gains steam from a 1.3GHz ARM 11 processor and ships with 16GB internal memory. Prospective users can increase the storage with a little assistance from a microSD card of up to 32GB capacity.

So far nothing is officially revealed about the Nokia EOS Windows Phone with PureView, but we will keep our eyes and ears open in case the company decides to let out more details.
