Samsung Galaxy Discover arriving soon through Net10 and Straight Talk

Samsung Galaxy Discover

The Samsung Galaxy Discover release date may not have been mentioned as yet, but the official website has confirmed that the phone is indeed in the pipeline and will arrive through Net10 and Straight Talk in the US. Only recently, the company in question also introduced some other mid-range devices such as the Android-based Fame and Young that are not likely to dig a deep hole in users’ pockets.

The candy bar Galaxy Discover comes encased in a grey-colored compact form factor with dimensions of 4.59 x 2.42 x .45 inches and tips the scales at approximately 4.4oz. Its front panel easily accommodates a 3.5-inch HVGA multi-touch display that delivers decent-quality visuals in 320 x 480p resolution. Under the touchscreen, lies an intuitive user interface which is powered by the Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 platform.

Front And Side

Needless to say, the handset offers access to the Play store and is loaded with multiple Google mobile services. It can run on networks like EDGE, GPRS as well as HSDPA and those who wish to browse the web on even faster speed can make use of the phone’s built-in Wi-Fi to connect it to a nearest open hotspot. It can even communicate with a number of Bluetooth-enabled gadgets.

Moreover, its ability to multitask can be attributed to the 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7225A processor. Casual photographers can capture images and videos using a 3MP rear camera, complete with features like 3x digital zoom, geo-tagging and online image uploading to name a few. The device also allows customers to stay productive on the move, thanks to its support for Microsoft Office.

Front And Rear

The handset has an integrated audio and video player which is compliant with formats like MP3, MPEG4, AAC, H.263, WMA, WAV, H.264 and AAC+ amongst others. Its 2.7GB onboard memory can be expanded by up to 32GB with the help of a microSD card. An incorporated 1300mAh lithium-ion battery coughs up the juice for talk time of up to 8.5 hours and standby time of close to 11 days.

As Phone Scoop reports, the Samsung Galaxy Discover price and release date are yet to be disclosed by Net10 and Straight Talk.
