Optimus F5 releasing as Verizon LG Lucid 2 in US?

The LG Lucid 2 may be coming to the US through Verizon Wireless and if the rumors doing the rounds are to be believed, it is nothing but a version of the Optimus F5. This mid-range affordable Android smartphone is said to offer LTE connectivity without breaking the bank.

Although the big red carrier has not gone on record to confirm the Lucid 2 as yet, the guys over at Unwired View seem to have received this piece of information through a reliable source. The South Korean manufacturer’s F series was announced only last month and was exhibited at the recently concluded MWC 2013 in Barcelona. This range features the 4.7-inch F7 as well as the F5, while a certain F3 is also in the offing.

Specifications of the phone in question have not been given a mention, but the OEM has already revealed the details of the F series device. So if the reports turn out to be true, the Verizon-bound handset’s front panel will be dominated by a display providing a multi-touch real estate of 4.3 inches. Its ability to deliver clear images with color precision can be attributed to the IPS technology deployed in the screen.

The Google-certified phone should allow users to access the Play store as it is garnished with the Android Jelly Bean version 4.1.2 OS. It may also be deployed with the 3.0 UI of the company and tools like QSlide, QuickTranslator, QuickMemo and more. The gadget integrates a 1.2GHz dual core processor to call the shots and launch multiple applications at the same time without lags or glitches.

Loaded with 1GB of RAM, it brings 8GB storage space to hoard digital content and lets users increase it further through an expansion slot which supports a microSD memory card of up to 32GB capacity. Armed with a 5MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front webcam, the device measuring 126 x 64.5 x 9.3 millimeters hides a 2150mAh battery under the hood.
