Pantech Renue AT&T eco-friendly phone now available

Environment-conscious people looking for a viable option have a new choice in the form of the Pantech Renue AT&T. The durable device made up of 67 percent recyclable material, wears a compact form factor complete with a physical keypad and a touchscreen to ensure smooth navigation.

This quick messaging phone flaunts a 3.2-inch capacitive multi-touch display and a QWERTY keyboard that slides out from behind the screen. It is deployed with the Qualcomm Brew mobile platform and users can customize the handset with up to four homescreens and an eco-themed lock screen. Moreover, it sports a 3MP camera and offers one-touch access to various social networking applications, messages, games, pictures and more.

“This device comes to market just as our eco-ratings system is beginning to appear on packaging. Our goal is to empower consumers to make informed decisions about the technology they use by giving them information on how a device performs against targeted environmental criteria,” commented Jeff Howard, vice president – mobile device portfolio, AT&T Mobility.

And that’s not all; this Pantech gadget boasts of an Energy Star 2.0 charger and comes with the Powersaver app too. It has acquired certification from UL Environment and even adheres to guidelines laid down by RoHS. The phone’s MIL Spec 810 G design makes it capable of withstanding dust, sand, solar radiation, extreme temperatures and humidity amongst others.

The Pantech Renue AT&T price and availability details reveal that it is now up for grabs through the official website and authorized resellers for $69.99 (approx. Rs. 3,885) after a $50 mail-in rebate and a two-year agreement. It will hit shelves at company-owned retail stores and other dealer locations on October 7.
