Verizon Wireless loyalists who were patiently waiting for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to go official, can now head to the company-owned retail and online stores to pick it up. It is now available through the big red carrier in shades of titanium gray and marble white.
Prospective users can choose to sign a contract for the Samsung device or purchase it without a two-year commitment by shelling out $699.99 (approx. Rs. 38,605). It is slated to start shipping today and those who have already placed pre-orders for the phone will receive an email alert as soon as the device is dispatched. This smartphone-tablet hybrid is compatible with the service provider’s 4G LTE and HSPA+ networks.
Featuring 16GB of internal memory, the slab has been embedded with an expansion slot that promises to support a microSD card of up to 64GB capacity. It employs 2GB of RAM which works in conjunction with the 1.6GHz quad core Samsung Exynos processor in order to enable users to multitask at all times. Another highlight of this device is that it runs the Android Jelly Bean 4.1 platform and may receive an OTA update for v4.2.
The Galaxy Note 2 with dimensions of 5.94 x 3.16 x .37 inches, weighs merely 180 grams. Its front panel is occupied by a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED multi-touch display of 1280 x 720p resolution.
