Nokia Lumia 510 India release date pegged for November

Nokia 510 Handsets

The Nokia Lumia 510 India release date is expected to fall sometime within the next month, followed by China and countries in Asia Pacific and South America, says the company. And interestingly, this handset will be classified under the entry-level smartphone segment with an affordable price tag.

Going by the specifications sheet, the phone tags along a 4-inch display just like the 808 PureView and a few other handsets. But this WVGA TFT capacitive touch panel renders visuals with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels against the 640 x 360 pixel resolution offered by the AMOLED screen seen on the latter. Also, the Live Tile feature common to all Windows Phone devices should help in viewing incoming texts and the latest updates without much effort, while there’s also the People Hub application that provides a single platform to access all contacts and updates.

The company’s location applications including Nokia Maps, Nokia Drive and Nokia Transport also come pre-loaded on the handset. This smartphone offers a generous scoop of the Windows Phone 7.5 platform and draws fuel from a Snapdragon S1 processor. Other than these, the device packs in 256MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory for hoarding content, but there’s no built-in microSD card for additional storage. It has a 5MP camera for photography needs and a 1,300mAh battery to juice up all the above mentioned components.

The price for the Nokia Lumia 510 is marked at $199 (approx. Rs. 10,675) and like we noted earlier, its Indian launch date has been scheduled for November. Potential buyers will be able to pick up the phone dipped in shades of red, yellow, cyan, black and white.
