After a long wait that lasted over three months, the Sprint Samsung Galaxy Nexus has finally hit pre-order status. The device will be marking the debut of the network carrier’s 4G LTE spectrum and is slated to start shipping on April 22 along with the LG Viper.

The smartphone flaunts an HD Super AMOLED contour 1280 x 720p display that offers a multi-touch real estate spanning 4.65 inches. It binges on the latest Android Ice Cream Sandwich platform and employs a 1.2GHz dual core processor under the hood, allowing users to multitask on the phone. The 5MP primary camera is capable of shooting 1080p videos and captures panoramic shots. This snapper is accompanied by a 1.3MP front-facing webcam for video calling on the move.

The Android 4.0 platform tags along a number of features such as Face Unlock to avoid the hassles of remembering passwords as well as Android Beam that facilitates sharing content with NFC-enabled devices. This NFC certification extends support to Google Wallet as well. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is also compatible with Google Voice, which lets users manage up to 6 different handsets with a single phone number.

The Sprint Samsung Galaxy Nexus release date and price details stand at April 22 and $199.99 (approx. Rs. 10,320), respectively. The device will start shipping on April 20 for users who place a pre-order, that’s two days before it hits store shelves. It requires an eligible upgrade or a new line service, a two-year service agreement and a Sprint Everything data plan.
