Sony Xperia E release date for UK to fall in February 2013

The Sony Xperia E release date has been announced to fall in February next year, but its price details are under wraps for now. Users who are interested in buying this piece of hardware can head to the Carphone Warehouse and pre-register to receive notifications regarding its shipping date.

Sony hasn’t made an official declaration for the device’s arrival in the UK, but its product page on the e-retailer’s website was spotted by Unwired View through The Inquirer. The mid-range smartphone was introduced only last week and the OEM revealed that it will be making its debut in the first quarter of next year along with its dual SIM counterpart. It comes drenched in shades of pink, white and black.

Measuring 113.5 x 61.8 x 11.0 millimeters, the Xperia device that weighs a little less than 116 grams is fitted with a 3.5-inch TFT multi-touch display. the handset is said to be capable of rendering visuals in 480 x 320p resolution. It doesn’t feature a front-mounted webcam, but a 3.2MP camera with auto focus has been fitted on the back panel.

Unlike the dual SIM version which is powered by the Ice Cream Sandwich platform, the Xperia E takes advantage of Jelly Bean v4.1. It acquires multitasking properties from the Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7227A processor that can clock in a maximum speed of 1GHz. There’s 512MB of RAM to accompany the chipset and ensure smooth navigation at all times.

Though the phone ships with merely 4GB of internal memory, it has been embedded with an expansion slot to increase the storage by up to 32GB with a little assistance from a microSD card. The handset is also loaded with xLoud Experience, an audio filter technology as well as a manual equalizer. The Walkman application has also been pre-loaded into it.

The Sony Xperia E smartphone’s price is not known. It is slated to be made available in the UK in February 2013.
