The LG Splendor U.S. Cellular price and release date details suggest that the smartphone can be purchased for $79.99 (approx. Rs. 4,425) starting from September 12. The sum is attached to a $100 (approx. Rs. 5,530) mail-in rebate and it is already available online.
The LG handset shows off a 4.3-inch screen on the front panel along with a VGA webcam for video conferencing over the web. Its rear is graced with a 5MP snapper with a Cheese Shutter that allows snapping up images by simply saying ‘cheese.’ A 1GHz processor takes care of all the device’s operations, while it offers 2GB of internal memory along with a 4GB memory card. The user storage space can be stretched by slipping in a microSD card of up to 32GB capacity. It is expected to operate on the carrier’s 3G network in the country.
On the software front, the smartphone puts up a decent show with features such as QuickMemo and Smartshare DLNA. The former allows scribbling of notes or remarks on images and sharing news with pals using personalized headlines by simple taps of the fingers. The latter enables streaming of content such as videos and photos from the phone to large screens wirelessly. Weighing just 4.23oz, the Splendor sports a profile that’s not more than 0.34 inches in thickness. The complete show is run by the Ice Cream Sandwich OS with no mention of Jelly Bean as of now.
