The Huawei Ascend D1 has officially hit stores shelves across China and will soon after make a debut across Russia. Fans can get hold of the device through the company’s online shopping mall and via e-commerce platforms.

This smartphone binges on the Ice Cream Sandwich platform and draws steam from a Texas TI OMAP 1.5GHz dual core processor. Its front panel is decorated with a 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen that offers a resolution of 1280 x 720p. The display’s IPS+ Corning Gorilla glass protects it from scratches and other dents. To spice up music hours, this handset tags along Dolby’s 5.1 Surround Sound and Audience earSmart technology for enhanced audio quality.

Snap-happy users can take advantage of its 8MP rear-facing sensor, while its 1.3MP front-facing snapper facilitates video conferencing. Apart from this, the main camera is also capable of capturing video clips in full HD format with enhanced detailing and clarity. Under the hood, the device is juiced up by an 1800mAh battery. Being equipped with power management technology, it boasts of running 30% longer than most handsets by altering its power consumption depending on the usage requirement.

For this particular gadget’s design, its manufacturers have drawn inspiration from streamlined sports cars. Scaling just 64.9mm in width, and with an 8.99mm thickness, the device weighs merely 132g. Additionally, users can access a host of business applications and store content in the device’s 8GB ROM. There is also a navigation system that employs both the standard US-run GPS and the Russian satellite positioning system GLONASS that updates users about their whereabouts.

The Huawei Ascend D1 price in China is tagged at ¥2499 (approx. Rs. 21,740). Furthermore, it will be arriving in Russia by August, through Lanck Telecom.
